I still haven't survived the last update, most of my apps are in wrong places etc.
Well, ok.. I'm still going to update now but first I'll clear out all unnecessary crap from my N73, I have a bunch of crap installed that I haven't used since the initial install and first tests.
This time it's a major update, maybe I can find some visible changes this time. Wish me luck. :)
DVB-H just started broadcasting here in Finland with a couple of major tv stations in addition to one earlier channel. And the first device to support DVB-H, the Nokia N92, hit the shelves on friday at the Nokia Flagship store in Helsinki with a gigantic price tag of course.
The thing that bothers me with these devices is that I need to buy alot of phones to carry in my big pockets to have all the features I want. I need a N92 for DVB-H, N95 for GPS, N93 for video and N800 for a nice big screen. Why not an all in one device that would support alot of stuff. To buy all these devices to get all these great features would cost me a fortune. N92 for 855€, N93i for 700€, N95 for 700€ and N800 for 400€. That's alot of money!
Take the N800, include a GPS, DVB-H and a good camera and it would be a fantastic device with it's big screen already included. And then I could have my N73 or something else for all my regular phone connectivity I need.
I don't need 7 phones, I want 7 features! :)
Enough of this rant, I'm still going to buy one of those devices I mentioned during next week. I'll rant about that one later when I have the device in my hand.. ;)
Sweet, fantastic, awesome.. I so can't wait for this sexy little (as in pockets) thing to appear in a store near me. I want one ASAP! I wanted one for free but apparently Nokia didn't send me one, seems I have to use real money for this one too. :)
My past and current mobiles (all Nokia) are:
- 2110
- 6110
- 6310i
- 7110
- 7250i
- 6600
- 7650
- N-Gage
- 6600 again
- 3650
- 6681
- N70
- N73
and N95 as soon as I find one.
I might have forgotten something from the list but I think/hope the order is correct..
UPDATE: I forgot the 6310i and N-Gage from the list
I was surprised to see an updated version of this app to be available last night. Everyone just mentioned this app a few hours earlier on multiple blogs I read.
I had stability issues with the first version that I got, the app partly freezed after aprox. 2,5h of usage. The only thing that still kept counting was the time counter, the "map", speed etc. just didn't move in any direction. A pause did get the thing going again as normal tho. And all this happened to me twice during the day.
But now I'm happy to see the new version being fully stable at over 3 hours of continuous tracking.
Well ok, one issue tho, it's a bit heavy on memory, it seems to use alot of it after 3 hours of continuous logging. But I don't think the developers intended anyone to go for a marathon for several hours and run over 100km while logging it all.. :)
Thanks Nokia, keep up the good work! :)
Sweet, now I can log my working time and stuff even if driving around isn't really called sports.. :)
I do sometimes go for long walks and stuff but I really don't think that my occasional 5 km walks need tracking.
But it sure is a great app that can be used in many ways, thanks Nokia for creating stuff like this.
But how about integrating the maps from the Nokia Maps (smart2go) app if it's already installed?
What's new? I have no idea, can't find anything new or changed this time. But I'll keep digging and update this post later...
Update: Ok, they changed something..or broke something. I can't force 3G on anymore in network settings.
After changing the setting it reboots the phone, as it used to, but after starting there's no operator logo anymore and it still refuses to enable 3G as it used to do.
That kinda sucks.
Nokia, please give me back the 3G..
